Organizing on a Budget

My featured apartment renter is a University Student. It goes without saying that most University Students have no budget for furniture, storage containers or luxurious interior decoration.
Hopefully some of the pictures will inspire you to give new functions to hand me down pieces.
Our student loved the 100 year old home that was converted into apartments. The large 7 foot high windows provided lots of light and the kitchen was large, even though it was short on cupboards and counter space.
The moving truck was loaded up with cast offs and hand me downs from older siblings, parents and relatives.
Our student had a loveseat, large wicker storage trunk, desk, dressers, bed, kitchen table and chairs and computer & TV.
Items purchased by parents and relatives were small appliances, fridge, bakers rack, dishes, pots & pans, draperies and storage items. The cost for these items was around $500 plus an additional $450 for the fridge. The current fridge was very old and the electrical cost savings of $150 per year determined a new fridge would pay for itself in less than 3 years.
