Closet Design / Organizing

When Michelle contacted me, she had a 2 year old and 9 month old twins. Her organized life had disappeared with the addition of 3 babies in 2 years. Her biggest challenge was managing the boxes and boxes of clothes for the children that friends had passed along to her.
We divided the clothes into
1. donate/recycle
2. clothes to grow into
3. clothes they are wearing today
Each closet was outfitted with Closet Max Systems by Neatfreak. A new dresser was swapped with the change table in the twins room since most baby clothes are put in drawers. The drawers also contain compartments which hold socks, facecloths and bibs. In the bottom of the closet sits a laundry basket to hold a few toys and a diaper disposal. On the top shelf are 2 storage bins which hold shoes and out of season clothes & hats.
In our 2 year old's closet, we also added a Closet Max. The lower hanging bars make it easier for children to reach when they are able to dress themselves. The drawers are easy to open and can hold anything from craft supplies, toys, t-shirts, socks& underwear. Michelle already had toy bins and book shelves in this room so we just needed to remove some of the toys. Wicker baskets on the floor of the closet corral a few more books.
